IT'S 2003!!
Can you believe it? Thirty-five - yes, that's 35 - years since graduation from Dixie High School.
We've started making plans for this year's class reunion. Ideas of a cruise were blown out of the water September 2001, so we've come up with an alternative plan. The committee's current idea is for us to meet on Saturday, Oct. 11. (Don't worry - that's the weekend BEFORE the deer hunt!) October came to mind because things are a little less hetic that time of year, air fares and travel are cheaper, and it's a lot cooler.
Several people told us how much they enjoyed the luncheon we had for just the classmates at the last reunion, so we decided to do it the same way again this year. The luncheon will be held at the Rococo restaurant on airport Road at 1:00. The cost for the luncheon will be $12.00 per person. That evening we'll meet at Staheli's Barn in Washington for dinner and entertainment. (very casual) Socializing from 5:00 - 7:00, dinner served at 7:00. the cost for the dinner will be $17.00 per person or $34.00 a couple.
We hope to use classmates.com, on the Internet, for reunion updates. If you're not registered with classmates.com, we hope you'll do so right now. There's NO CHARGE to register and pick up reunion updates. (They only charge if you want to get the e-mail addresses from them or put out information.)
We hope to use the Internet ONLY for reunion correspondence to save postage. We would greatly appreciate it if you would take a moment right now to e-mail any one of us on the committee to give us your e-mail address, correct street address, and telephone number. If you absolutely do not have access to any computer or Internet service (most public libraries can accommodate you), PLEASE drop us a note so we can use "snail mail" to keep you updated. We DO NOT want anyone left out.
Please take time to fill out the Calss of '68 update - and please feel free to elaborate and add to. It's fun to find out where everyone is, where they're going, where they've beenm and what they're doing. You can send this update by snail mail or e-mail to any one of us on the committee, but PLEASE be sure to do it, whether you plan to attend or not!
We really wish we could impress on every one of you just how much we want you to be there with us. In the Class of '68 EVERYONE was, and still is, important! It has always been that way. We've lost another classmate since the last reunion (Scott Wells), and we don't want to miss the chance to see each other again. Soooo..... mark your calendars NOW for Oct. 11.
We welcome any ideas or suggestions you might have for this reunion, but we would appreciate getting them right away.
